Fine Arts Photographs
Exquisite,
matted and signed, fine art photographs are available in a number of
sizes for each of the images presented in this website. Peter Cavanna
personally makes each print, using the finest digital printmaking
techniques. Peter utilizes proprietary software technology to achieve
outstanding print quality using his Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printer with
UltraChrome archival inks.
How the photographs are made
Peter
travels a great deal to experience nature's splendor firsthand. He uses
Nikon Digital State of the Art camera system to capture images. Peter
typically photographs each subject many times, with different angles
and compositions, and often returning another day for better light.
After capturing the images Peter selects only the strongest images to
print. The calibrated workflow, involving camera, PC / monitor /
Editing Tablet, Digital Darkroom Editing Software and printer profiles,
ensures accurate reproduction of color. Always staying true to what was
in front of the camera, but refining with subtle dodging and burning to
create a more expressive print. Peter makes the final prints on his
Epson Stylus Pro 9600 with a 44 inch print capability guaranteeing
outstanding image quality. Peter mounts each print on acid-free foam
board, cuts his own archival single / double mats from all cotton
museum board, inspects and signs each print along with a
Certificate-of-Authenticity. The edition-sizes are individually stated
with the description of each photograph. As with all art prints, proper
framing behind glass is recommended for display and exposure to direct
sunlight should be avoided.
All photographic images are high resolution large format inkjet prints
on Epson Somerset Velvet Paper, Bright White, 100% rag content, smooth
surface, available through the Epson Digital Fine Art Collection.
Peter’s typical format sizes are 11 X 14, 16 X 20, 24 X 30, 30 X 40 and
40 X 50 including borders but most images will have different “aspect
ratios” (the proportion of width to height). Therefore, printed image
dimensions on any sizes listed will vary.
Expected display life of the prints
Accelerated
light fading tests conducted by Wilhelm Imaging Research predict a
display life in excess of 75+ years before the UltraChrome archival
pigment prints exhibit any noticeable fading. These tests are based on
standard indoor display conditions of 450 lux of glass-filtered
fluorescent light for 12 hours per day.
Time to allow for shipping
The
prints usually ship within two weeks, unless Peter is out of town. In
such case you will know this up front. The prints are usually shipped
with FedEx, DHL or UPS. Prints are shipped flat, protected and fully
insured.

highly compressed images used on this website cannot do justice to the
fine detail and beautiful rich colors of these expressive images. We
are confident that you will be pleased with the quality of the final
photographs, and we offer a “no questions asked” return policy to
assure you. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, simply return the
print in the same shipping container and insured within 10 days for a
full refund. Please call ahead to let us know of any problems and to
arrange for shipping. We have had many delighted customers, and no one
has yet returned a print.
